About the Author
He was born Oct, 24, 1975 a scorpio from Osceola Arkansas. Since 1980 he has been riding and singing to Marvin Gaye The O' Jays, and Maze. He enjoys music and gained most of the inspiration from growing up around his father collection of records. He would sing along to many of the greats in the industry. Raised on the south west side of a small town is where he picked up the name Sweetdaddy from the sitcom "Good times". Larry would hang with his old pals like Michael Walker, Johnny Broadnax, and Donnell Luckie. They would dance and beat box unless chores were needed to be done. He and Kevin Davis his brother would hang out at the Ward's house until there mom called them home. Here they would play basketball in the backyard, and the Ward's had all kind of rap tapes. Music such as Scarface was being listened too before their success. Across the street was the neighborhood Boy's Club. This is where they would participate in basketball, baseball, and boxing programs. Inspired by Teddy Pendergrass and New Edition as Larry got older everyone was moving away from the area. He practiced more on his break dance moves and by believing in the gift of music he danced, and competed with others. He even placed in the Dale Evans contest held downtown yearly. After placing a stellar third Larry gave breakin a rest. He sung more with his brother Kevin, and cousin Marvin Cotton. The brothers were told to get more focused on education and to attend the public library for reading, arts, and crafts. Before he reached middle school his mom and dad divorced. He was crushed torn between two people he loves. Larry packed and moved with his mom as rap merged onto the scene. By 1985-86 Larry began to go from old school R&B to rap. He started buying his own music for his stereo player which the first album was Run DMC's Walk This Way. In his room he would practice scratching on his record player and attempted to rap over a beat. With his father distancing himself more Larry practiced more on the keyboard, guitar, and drums. When given any chance at his new neighbors house. He grasped an interest in instruments at an early age from the Gospel group Brotherly Love. His relatives today have a gospel album out titled "Long Time Coming." The group Brotherly Love has grown. Larry excelled in the classroom and outside of the classrooms. In football baseball and basketball he has placed first place from 83- 89 through out his younger days and second once in baseball. Throughout his teenage years Larry racked up a lot of trophies and awards along the way. Nothing has quite taken the place of music. He played more basketball, and baseball. He continued make tapes whether he was in Osceola or in Virgina from 1989-1994 and never participated in rap battles on the bus trips out of town with other basketball team members. He has made all-state in basketball and all conference through his high school years. He attended Lambuth University on a football scholarship in Jackson,Tn. After being sent home at the end of tour days Larry visited a pal during the summer he watched a partner produce songs in the hotel room while he continued pushing for his dream. He sold newspapers, cut yards, pitched pennies, and hustled the streets until he got shot in 1996. Here is when he began to leave it all behind. When 1996 came he prepared to sit down and write the book titled "The Life I Once Lived". He announced to friends not only did he want to own a studio, but he wanted to go back to making music.
