About the Book About the Author Excerpts Catalogue Information

About the Book

This book, as well as others in the "Teal Duck" series, was prompted by life's exposure to the wonderful people that surround all of us on a daily basis.

The pages of the story are written to expose certain young students to a better experience in reading along with a smattering of history.

In our world today many of our young people pass along in school unable to maintain grade reading levels, lack the desire to learn or have other attention deficit problems. Those students with reading deficiencies most likely will be weak in other studies as well. Today many students drop out of school or receive "social diplomas."

The intent of these books is to create an interest that will catch the readers attention. Having a dog named Teal Duck relate to her vacations in such a manner that embraces a touch of history may encourage a desire to read.

As mentioned the book gives the teacher/parent the opportunity to touch on a particular states history. The writer's hope is to expand one child's mind at a time to enable them to have a better life experience in theis wide world of ours.

About the Author

The author is a person who has spent a lifetime working in the public sector, the first 30 years associated with several leading banking institutions, the last 10 years associated with a newspaper publishing corporation. Observations garnered during this time prompted the writing of this book as well as others in the "Teal Duck" series.

The author is now retired from the business world. Days are full, spending time with his wife and family, including their pet dog Teal Duck.
