About the Author and Illustrator

Gail Tharp gained her love of children’s books from her years as director of a day care center. She has previously authored and illustrated Winter Harvest and Mary’s Purse. She lives in Danville, Indiana, with her husband, Don, and close to her daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren.

Violet Morgan Keller was born in Hendricks County, Indiana, and her first art teachers were her parents. Her father encouraged her to see pictures in the clouds, and her mother stressed shapes and colors in the wild flowers.

She continues to take art classes and workshops and is an active member of Central Indiana Artists, Hoosier Salon, Indiana Heritage Arts and the Covered Bridge Association. She has exhibited at the Hoosier Salon, State and County Fairs, PIG casso (Pork Producers Exhibits) and Eagle Creek Art Fairs. Violet and her family live in Danville, Indiana.
