About the Authors
Vern Stake
1920-2004
Vern was born and raised in Chicago IL and attended the Ecole Des Beaux Art in Paris, France. He was nationally known as Master Artist and Instructor at the prestigious American Academy of Art in Chicago IL for 32 years. He was stationed in Europe during WWII.
Fran Stake
Fan was British, born and raised (for 21 years) in Shanghai, China. During WWII she spent 3 years as a POW of the Japanese. She received a Graphic Arts degree in the United States and has earned her living as a designer. A former newspaper publisher, she lives and paints in the country on 5 beautiful acres with a big dog and cats, Charlie and Diana.
