About the Book About the Author Excerpts Catalogue Information About the Book
It is a constant challenge to attempt to distinguish the differences between the types of relationships people can have. It is a larger challenge still to know the difference when you are in one. During our life span we are all mentors, like it or not. Try never to turn down an opportunity to help another person, especially if they ask for your assistance. Several poems have been signed by the individual they were written about. Quite a few of the poems deal with social interaction, the acceptance of self...how to treat and respect others and their way of life. One item to remember in life is that love and reason are not compatible. These poems will also show that love cannot be locked like a bird in a cage, it must have freedom if it is to survive. This is known as trust in your loved one. This is why at times we are our own worst enemy. Be thankful of an early break up of a relationship of marriage that will not blend together as you desire as it can educate you in how to handle love should you have another chance to find love. As you read these poems, remember that to love ever so briefly and to lose is better than not experiencing love at all. Love knows no season, location or time of day. The expectations and desires of women are much different that those of men, therefore open sharing of thoughts to each other can prevent disappointments, heartaches, separations and divorce. Do you now have the courage to enter into this book of poetry and see how you measure up to life and love? Hopefully after reading this book of poetry you will be a better informed individual in your daily encounters with people.
About the Author

While I was serving three years in the Marine Corps, I was attached to a flying squadron on an aircraft carrier. After being discharged, I attended a carpentry school in New York City during the day and worked at Bickfords in the evenings. While living a lonely life at this time, I was seduced by a young lady into a relationship and a marriage which I thought was love, but was greatly mistaken. I served ten years in the Air Force as an Education Specialist in counseling officers and airmen. I also served in Vietnam. After retirement I completed a degree in Business Administration and was attending a Masters program when I decided that I would rather live on the land and be in the country. After a long and difficult marriage due to lies, greed and jealousy in a loveless marriage, I divorced my wife. I had a choice like everyone else: either stay in a loveless marriage, take the easy way out, or take the high road. It is a tougher road at first, but well worth it in the long run. Did I make a wise choice, yes, I believe I did. After my divorce, I started to write for my own pleasure about my surroundings, about me and personal encounters with others as well as tragedies of friends. I must give thanks to several friends that assisted me during and after the divorce. I've learned never to look back because you cannot change yesterday...and should always look forward to the beginning of a new day in life. Now I have started an elderberry wine and vinegar business and I have more self esteem and enjoy life to the fullest.
