About the Book
Written by Kimberly Grewe and illustrated by Tibor Polgar, Benny the Brave is a journey towards independence for young James.
The story covers each day of the week in James' search for his beloved lion and chronicles how he learns to cope without relying on his friend every step of the way. This story is good for those who have security blankets, good luck charms or even favorite things that are difficult to part with.
The book has an easy to follow format. Each day of the week starts with alliteration and is ideal for students to make connections to their own lives and inspire their own writing endeavors.
About the Author

Kimberly Grewe is an elementary school teacher. During her 18 years as a teacher she has been crafting and developing stories and plays for her students.
A long-time resident of Winnipeg, she is temporarily residing in Saskatoon while her husband attends seminary. She receives support and encouragement from her loving husband and their hairy son Augustine, a black terrier mix.
About the Illustrator

Tibor Polgar was born in Hungary and immigrated to Canada in 1956. He has designed CD cover, portraits and other illustration. This is his first endeavor at ullustrating a children's book.
He currently resides in Winnipeg with Zoe and Scriffy, his feline roomates.
