About the Author

Deirdre Sheets had been sewing in earnest since she was about seven, when she received a child's sewing machine and several yards of colorful calico as a Christmas present. Eventually she graduated to using her mother's old knee press pedal Singer. Deirdre is particularly drawn to warm and comforting colors and fabrics and especially likes using wool and felt. She uses recycled materials whenever possible and allows her ideas to be influenced by what is available to her rather than buying new materials to fit her original vision. When she is not sewing, Deidre is a teacher and a mother of two beautiful daughters who keep her busy each day. She lives in Bloomington, Indiana.
