About the Book About the Author Excerpts

About the Book

The story begins in Germany during World War II. A solicitor is kidnapped at night and taken to a castle, where he is forced to prepare a legal document for a German Colonel who has chanced across evidence that the last surviving Tsar of Russia, Nicholas II, had an illegitimate son. The legal document transfers part of the inheritance intended for the illegitimate son to the Colonel.

We move to the present day when the main character, Australian Euan McAllister, an investigator who retrieves historic relics is given a prediction indication the possible whereabouts of a missing treasure left by the late Tsar.

Aware that Euan has been given the clues of the whereabouts of the treasure, he is hired by the Tsar's illegitimate grandson to locate the Tsar's lost Will. The grandson is confident the will can lead to hidden wealth, which will provide him with the resources to return the monarchy to Russia.

During his search across several continents, Euan deals with the Russian mafia; the old regime of the Russian Communist party; the Japanese Royal family, and the highest levels of the deeply corrupt British banking system. All have an axe to grind, and all are prepared to kill for the treasure.

Euan rekindles a cherished love affair with the daughter of one of the old guard Communists, and begins a new affair with Sonya, from the Monarchist connections. He and Sonya escape by helicopter, barge and train from the Communists, with the help of the Georgian mafia, fleeing to a remote mountain top monastery where the treasure is hidden.

In an exciting, yet terrifying climax, Euan discovers that the Tsar's treasure is not what everyone expected. He is forced to fight for his life amide the crumbling ruins of the secret chamber where it has lain untouched for centuries.

Emerging triumphantly from the monastery with both Sonya and the treasure, Euan then decides on his next move.
