About the Book

Hanukkah Counts Too! is the story of a brother and sister, Tom and Tupelo, who came to learn the meaning of why Hanukkah counts too and that they should be proud of their Jewish heritage. Tupelo begins to wonder why her family is different and does not celebrate Christmas like everyone else. It takes a heart-to-heart conversation with her older cousin for her to realize that Hanukkah counts too!

About the Author

Howard Shapiro lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife and two sons. In creating this book, Howard drew upon his recollections of growing up one of the only Jewish kids in his school. His hope is that the parents of children will identify with what the characters of Tom and Tupelo go through during the holiday season and they will talk to their children about their experiences and have fun doing it. Maybe even listen to Adam Sandler's Hanukkah Song too!
