About the Book About the Author Excerpts Catalogue Information About the Book
Darwin likes to chew on everything, even stuff he's not supposed to chew on. Some people think he's stupid for chewing on everyone's things, but Darwin shows just how smart he really is. This book helps children to realize that calling someone stupid is wrong.
About the Author
Derek Wood was born in Amherst, NS in 1972, but grew up in Joggins which is located on the Bay of Fundy about 20 miles from Amherst. He began writing stories and poems in his early teens, the goal always being to make someone laugh. Derek's work was twice published in local college newspapers for "off-the-wall" witty poems which was incentive enough to keep writing. After a workplace injury forced Derek off the job, the increased free time allowed his imagination to grow, and stories for children became his main focus.
Derek now lives in River Herbert, NS with his wife Sara. Together they have a baby named Maya and live as a happily combined family that includes 5 children, 2 cats, and one silly dog named Darwin.
