Small Fox, a boy of the Paiute tribe, loves nature, especially the animals. This simple story takes children into his world, and shows how his kindness is returned.

About the Book
Small Fox, a Paiute Indian boy, lives in the valley of the Sacred Mountain now called Mount Jefferson, in the times before the coming of the white man. He loves and respects the natural environment around him. Small Fox befriends the animals, and much later, in his time of need, they return his kindness. Having lived a life of caring for his people and for his animal friends, he becomes legend.
About the Author
Douglas G. Vincent [1938 * 2006] shared with Small Fox his love of nature, and his respect for the animals. He was a native of Oregon, and knew well the Sacred Mountain. He lived and wrote on the mountains in southwestern Mexico.
