What happens when a retired chef, turned writer from British Columbia meets a cartoonist from Ontario? They cook up Chef Pierre's Fresh Sheet!

Chef Ray Claxton had been a fan of the syndicated cartoon strip Le Grand Chef Pierre, which ran in many newspapers in the early 1980's. While surfing the internet, he happened upon Brian Fray, the creator of Chef Pierre. Ray contacted Brian and the two struck up a long distance friendship.

The result of this friendship is a madcap mélange of hilarious story, scrumptious recipes, off-the-wall Chef Pierre drawings, some classic reprints of the strip and other, brand-new gags and illustrations.

About the Author

Ray Claxton has now retired on Vancouver Island, after a lifetime working as a chef in the hospitality industry. He has written many food oriented newspaper articles, and several small cook books. Currently he is carving out a second career as a writer.

Brian Fray is a professional cartoonist living in Guelph, Ontario He is the creator and illustrator of Le Grand Chef Pierre, which was a syndicated cartoon strip carried in over 60 newspapers in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe and Hong Kong. Brian later published a compilation of Le Grand Chef Pierre cartoons called The Best of the Chef. Brian makes his living as a full time free lance cartoonist / designer, and some time karate instructor.
