About the Book
My story begins on board the Francis Drake's ship, the Golden Hind, during his epic voyage around the world. In the seas of Indonesia, disillusioned crewman, Jed, secretly jumps ship using a gunpowder barrel as a float. He eventually ends up on the beach of a strange land, where he is destined to spend the rest of his days.
We now jump straight into the present day, in an English city, where twelve-year-old Silquay is once again being teased about her odd name. A name given to her by her beloved pa, who was killed in a freak accident when they lived in America.
"There's magic in ya honey," he would say. "Aunt Canta'll tell ya."
During the summer holidays, Silquay visits her aunt in Florida where she learns a little, but nowhere near enough, about her magic. She also learns about her Native American ancestry.
Upon visiting a water theme park the next day, Silquay looks forward to trying Cascade Cave, "the most thrilling water ride in the world."
The ride turns out to be more thrilling than anticipated, as it serves as a doorway to another world; a world that will hold Silquay until she has completed her given task.
This is a world of a new found friend, of terrifying creatures and a cantankerous shaman. A world of terror, of beauty and of uncanny coincidences.
This is a journey of emotional and magical discovery that will shape Silquay's life forever.
This a world where events and people from the past and future merge and mingle to create the final solution to freeing the village from the tyranny of the "Ora."
That's right, from the Dragon of Kamora.
