Set in the fictitious Central London borough of Croswell in the 1960s, this is the story of a boy called Kevin Wakeman. As an eight year old he is terrified when an older boy tells him that a child murderer has moved into the tenement block they both live in. Three years later and he is shocked to learn that his best friend Clive has befriended the murderer. Further complications arise when Kevin inadvertently begins a correspondence with someone who describes himself as a 14 year old living on another planet. It takes Kevin a further four years to discover the truth about his pen-friend and to begin to comprehend his own confused sexuality.
About the Author
Born in Central London in 1953. Many interests including languages, genealogy, local history; has read a lot of science fiction. This book brings together many of those interests. Not a lot else I can think to say!
