About the Book

Amber knows what number come after a trillion, loves trying exotic new candies at Mr. Emin's store, and dreams of being a space explorer, an undercover detective, or a 'writer of great books.' She frets at her 'boring' life and considers her best friend, Olivia, to have a more interesting family. When Amber, Olivia, and Olivia's younger brother Eric become fascinated with a mysterious old house and its even more mysterious 'hippie' owner, they find more excitement than they bargained for! As their adventures build to a climax, Amber discovers an important thing or two about herself as well as about her friends - both old and new.
