About the Book

After his son David was lost at sea in 1978 (see The Search For David, www.GeorgeSchwimmer.com), George Schwimmer was led down a spiritual path of epic dimensions.

In pursuit of understanding David's death, George kept being presented with opportunities that he previously had no knowledge of. He learned Reiki and discovered there is a human energy field, that there are chakras, that anyone can learn to heal others using universal energy.

He studied and practiced past-life therapy, and realized that all time is simultaneous and so you can call on all of your past and future selves right now, can heal yourself and them. He discovered a way to heal in this present-past, and to easily access anyone's higher self. He was stunned to discover that virtually everyone, at one time or another, has the spirits of the dead attached to them, and learned how to release these spirits into The Light, including two spirits that were attached to him.

Drawn to mediumship training, he instead found himself doing past-life readings for clients, giving them not only accounts of their past lives but also channeled advice as to why they were given this information.

A critical personal discovery was that everyone has a life plan, a scenario which each individual prepares prior to coming to Earth, and that there is always a spiritual scenario at work, in any kind of relationship and situation, which is vastly different from what is taking place on the surface of everyday life.

Ultimately, what this quest of twelve years uncovered is that we are all One, there is only one spirit, that we are all part of it, that all matter is spirit, and that all that has been created was created by and out of a single source, of which we are a part, ergo we are all part of that One.

About the Author

George Schwimmer became disaffected with organized religion by the age of thirteen and for the next fifteen years considered himself an agnostic. During this time he did not believe in God and considered the universe to be an irrational and frightening arena of chaos. All this changed when he read Thomas Sugrue's biography of Edgar Cayce, There Is A River. Immediately grasping the implications and possibilities inherent in incarnation, spiritual life paths, life after death, and reincarnation, his entire view of life, the universe, spirituality and God dramatically changed, forever altering his life. For the next forty-five years, he read hundreds of books about Cayce and various metaphysical subjects. It was this spiritual knowledge and understanding that later was the saving grace when his younger son died.

Twenty years ago he received extensive training in Past-Life Therapy from leading U.S. practitioners of the international Association for Past-Life Research and Therapy (APRT) and became the first person certified in Past-Life Therapy by APRT. He later was elected to APRT 's board of directors for four years (serving as secretary and vice-president), was APRT 's newsletter editor for three years, and was on the Advisory Board of APRT's Journal of Regression Therapy. For a dozen years, he helped individuals to remember their past lives and receive guidance, employing a process he calls Transformational Guidance, which utilizes a variety of techniques, including past-life regression, visualization healing, guidance from each person's Higher Self, past-life rescripting, and spirit releasement therapy.

He is a Second Degree Usui Reiki healer and over the years studied other metaphysical subjects such as chakra healing and, currently, Peruvian shamanism. He was trained in the use of the inner senses and higher consciousness at The Arthur Ford International Academy of Mediumship, which resulted in his being able to do spiritual past-life readings for individuals. Dr. Schwimmer also obtained advanced instruction in the utilization of altered states of consciousness at The Monroe Institute in Virginia, for which he was an outreach trainer.

He has given lectures, seminars and workshops on Past-Life Therapy and Transformational Guidance at conventions of the Association for Humanistic Psychology, the California Association for Counseling and Development, the Association for Past-Life Research and Therapy, Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship, The Brain and Mind Symposium, and New Zealand's New Spirit Festival 2000. He has held past-life recall workshops for the general public and has conducted professional training workshops in past-life therapy. He has spoken at New Age events, before civic groups, on television and radio.

Dr. Schwimmer is currently a writer, and his first book, The Search For David, an account of his spiritual journey after the accidental death of his younger son, David, was published in 1996, received raves from readers and reviewers, and was re-published in 2004. He recently published his second book, Adventures In Consciousness - which deals with ten years of personal research into modern metaphysical practices - and has edited his son's writing, David: leaves from the journal of a soul, which will be published Late Summer 2006. He has written more than forty articles on Transformational Guidance, past-life healing, and other metaphysical subjects, which were published in A.R.E.'s Venture Inward, The Journal of Regression Therapy, The APRT Newsletter, The Journal of Religion and Psychical Research, Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship Newsletter, Link-Age, AHP Perspective, IONS: Noetic Sciences Review, and Whole Life Times. He has also written metaphysically themed screenplays and is developing a dramatic TV series about the life of Edgar Cayce. He has directed, produced, and acted in numerous plays, taught theatre and directed at two colleges and a university.
