This is the story of a small, loveable dog who has true-to-life adventures, how he takes life and what he does with it - the things he enjoys and the things he doesn't like so much. He likes vegetables but not the skin; he likes a warm bath but not the haircut that comes after; he has his favorite toys, like his sucky, and he's not about to share but will make a game of it if you try to take it away. The simple things of a dog's life that any human young or old can relate to in some way.

About the Author

Marilyn Stark has lived in Victoria B.C. for most of her life. She is the mother of five grown daughters and two step daughters; added blessings are four grandchildren, two girls and two boys.

Her marriage to Dan in May of 2004 has added further extended family members to her life, including "great-in-laws" L&L.

In the past two years she has completed a cake decorating course which she hopes will lead into specializing in wedding and anniversary cakes. As well, music has always been a big interest in Marilyn's life, she is now enjoying taking long-awaited piano lessons!

At this point in life she is happy to be able to realise her long-time dream of writing a children's book about Shazoo, the little family dog who has brought so much joy to family and friends by his cute (at times almost human!) personality.

Just a few of the saying you can hear her say often these days are : "Life is good... I have been blessed!... there IS life after the kids move out!... dreams do come true!" and "Thank the good God above for it all!"

Mike Laing lives in Victoria, BC, with his wife, two children and a dignified cat. He has many years of drawing and painting experience, with an emphasis on pen-and-ink, airbrushing, and watercolors. When not drawing on his cool new computer graphic pad, he can be found mountain biking, hiking and playing disc golf (though not at the same time).
