About the Author

SARAH SHEY spent many summers at Lake Okoboji - from eating bags of licorice candy in grade school to defrosting refrigerators at Fillenwarth's Resort as a college student. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Time Out New York, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Des Moines Register, The Iowan, This Old House Magazine, and the anthology Woman's Best Friend: Women Writers on the Dogs in Their Lives. Shey also wrote Sky All Around, a children's book about rural Iowa.



About the Illustrator

SARA FLETCHER grew up near Lake Erie in New York. She received her BFA in ceramic sculpture from Alfred University, a post- baccalaureate certificate in painting from Brandeis University, and her MFA in painting from the University of Iowa. Fletcher has exhibited work in Massachusetts, the state of New York and Iowa.
