About the Book About the Author Excerpts Catalogue Information About the Book
Twelve-year old John Wayne Cooper considers himself to be the unluckiest kid ever born. Why? He's got it all figured out and shares his three good reasons. He mixes wry wit with sarcastic humor to describe experiences of his summer with Grandpa, his pet squirrel, his friends and his first love. He tells his story as only an adolescent can, exploring such questions as, "Where did I come from?" to "Why are there flying fish?" Kids will easily relate to his language, finding John's antics and ideas to be hilarious. By the way, how do you say "water"? Adults will laugh out loud as they gain insight into how adolescents think and ponder questions about life and its inevitable situations. Parents will appreciate the transformation of John from sarcastic malcontent to thoughtful and insightful enjoyer of life.
