About the Author and Illustrator
Author's biographical note:
D. L. Withers, Education Specialist, has been teaching elementary school for the past 10 years. Currently she teaches third grade in Georgia. Some of her recognitions include being voted as 2005-2006 Teacher of the Year at her previous school and included in the Who's Who Among American Teachers list.In addition to writing, D. L. enjoys attending cultural events and traveling with her husband. She has been influenced by her grandmother, a talented and accomplished author in her own right.
Illustrator's biographical note:
Grethel Peralta received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in illustration from California State University Long Beach. She lives with her husband in Whittier, California. Grethel believes that great children's books are created by being around children and being immersed into their interests and perceptions of the world.
