About the Author

Scott and Barbara and their family have been involved in swimming and swimming education for more than thirty years. Barbara had a successful swimming career starting as a child in age group swimming and continuing as a high school, college and master swimmer. Barbara successes include Florida High School Swimming State Champion and All-American honors as a high school and collegiate swimmer. Barbara was an AIAW/NCAA National Qualifier whose greatest achievement was being a member of an "American Record" Relay Team. Barbara has retired as a swim coach after twenty years at Vero Beach High School where she had the pleasure of coaching her own children Kristie and Scott to successful swimming careers. After graduating from University of South Florida with a degree in Physical Education, Barbara received her Master degree in Education and currently teaches Personal Fitness with Indian River School District. Barbara was honored as "Teacher of the Year 2003" for Vero Beach High School Freshman Learning Center. Barbara has taught swimming for over thirty years and with the help of her family they continue to remain very active with swimming in their community. Barbara resides in Vero Beach, Florida with her husband Scott.
