Take a journey with 6 colorful creatures from the isle of Crimish. They encounter fantastic sights on the ocean and pull together as a team when trouble strikes.
About the Book
The creatures of Crimish are having a marshmallow roast when the jaguar decides he would like to go on a journey. Joe the iguana puts out the fire and all board the boat.
At sea they witness dolphins frolicking and whales cavorting. While looking at the whales, the jaguar, who is steering the ship, runs into an island. The boat strikes a rock and is damaged. Timid Joe, who has been riding inside, begins to cry because he is afraid he will never see his mama iguana again. The Zebra admonishes Joe to be strong and brave.
All the animals venture into the scary jungle. In the dark they find a fallen tree and drag it to the beach. There, they saw it up into boards and repair the hole the rock has made. All is well and the boat is fixed. There is a small celebration and a feeling of relief. Joe drives the boat home in victory. His mother is waiting on the Shore of Crimish Island.
About the Author
Stacey Landfield has lived in rural Southern California all her life. As a child she filled her days with horseback riding, swimming and of course, doing art.
As a young girl her mother was a great inspiration to her, always making available creative tools with which to experiment. She has had no formal schooling in art.
At 10 years old her mother had her paint a mural on her brother's wall. Later in life she realized what a huge confidence booster this had been.
She home schooled both her boys who are now grown. Max, the oldest, is a pilot and Jessee is an artist like his mother.
She still has a horse, also 3 dogs. When not painting she is riding or working outdoors. To her, painting is enjoying the timeless space in your mind and storytelling is the child of experience.
