Playing with Fire: Confessions Of A Sex Therapist

by Dr. Peter X; as told to Martin Blinder, M.D.

147 pages; quality trade paperback (softcover); catalogue #06-0037; ISBN 1-4120-8283-8; US$14.95, C$17.19, EUR12.28, £8.60

Mailer was right: "There's no such thing as safe sex."

About the Book

"Though the number of individuals and couples that I was to counsel over the years was large and the scenarios they presented rich and varied, their sexual lives would remain prosaic compared to my own, as should be apparent in the pages which follow. Neither did I ever encounter any whose intensity of erotic longings could match the libidinous fever which still informs my every waking moment.

My clients, some of whom you are about to meet, have surely taught me much about sexual angst and its possible remedies. Yet in truth, despite this sizeable and ever growing cache of knowledge, my own affliction remains very much a work in progress. As they say in Alcoholics Anonymous, one day at a time."

- Dr. Peter X
