About the Book

Sammy the Spider is terrified of little girls. He has to conquer this fear while struggling to pass all the tests required to become an "Adult Spider - First Class". The test that makes his legs quake and his heart skip a beat is the "Little Miss Muffet Test". Sammy has to frighten a little girl... away. This is the story of Sammy's adventures and misadventures while he learns to spin a web, catch a fly and scare a little girl away.

About the Author

Kaye Smillie is a country girl. She was raised on a farm outside of Calgary, Alberta and now resides in the bucolic surroundings of Cobble Hill, B.C.

In love with all forms of creativity, she is a signature member of the Canadian Pastel Association, loves life drawing, paints, sculpts and writes.

Sammy the Spider is her first book and was written many years ago for her daughter, Cara, who was afraid of spiders. The manuscript was retrieved from the back of a dusty shelf and brought to life again for her grandchildren and all children who love to imagine that all creatures, big and small, have personalities and problems to solve.
