About the Author

Linda earned a Ph.D. in Entomology from McGill University in 1986. For five years she was research director of a company rearing beneficial insects and worked for a decade for the provincial government on programs to reduce pesticide use. She has written pest management training manuals, organic gardening books and numerous articles for gardening magazines. In addition to teaching for the Master Gardener programs in the province, she gives workshops and public talks on gardening and pest management. In 2003 she was awarded a Queen's Jubilee medal and in 2005 received an outstanding achievement award from the Professional Pest Management Association of BC.
