The purpose of this book is to enable individuals in learning basic computer concepts. The interactive lessons are step-by-step procedures to engage the student in developing skills in MS Word, Ms Excel, and Ms Access. Screenshots present a picture to learn various concepts quickly. Several tutorials are presented to provide ease of learning and skill mastery. This book can be used in an introductory computer course.
About the Author
The author was born and raised in Sumter, SC. She is the seventh child born to Naham and Vashti Johnson McBride. As a native of Sumter, South Carolina, she attended Morris College where she earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She also earned a Master of Arts degree in Business Education from Ohio State University (1984), and a Master of Arts degree in Computer Resource Management (2001) from Webster University. She has done additional studies at the University of South Carolina. The author is currently a doctoral candidate pursuing a doctorate in Computer Information Systems (DISS).
Her work experience has been primarily teaching at the postsecondary level. She taught at Columbia Junior College (Columbia, SC) for 12 years. She currently serves as an assistant professor in Business Administration at Morris College, Sumter, South Carolina and teaches computer courses. She is also very active in community service.
