About the Book About the Author Excerpts Catalogue Information About the Book
My First Sentence Book was written by a registered nurse who completed a Masters of Science with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioning. Lisa Lineweaver is also a mother who observed her child's early experiences and encouraged those first moments of learning. Many of her 2-year-old's first sentences have been incorporated into this book in combination with 21 brightly colored illustrations. The sentences were then added to, if necessary, to make complete and educational sentences. It is therefore the intent of this book to aid other children in the stimulation of both their speech and language development based on this case study.
Featured with this book is a bonus potty training poster guide. As destiny would have it, Lisa's child happened to be the oldest one in her playgroup. The Awake Daytime Potty Training Guide originated when several other mothers from her daughter's playgroup approached her and wanted to know how she potty trained her own child. Before beginning to potty train, Lisa asked experienced parents how they taught their children. Some common methods and items were identified in successful potty training and incorporated into the guide. The handy chart can be placed on the inside of a kitchen cabinet or on the back of a bathroom door for quick reference.
