About the Book

I wrote this book about a real squirrel that came to our bird feeder. He warmed our hearts with his many visits and happy encounters with other squirrels and birds.

We really did notice his various scars as winter after winter passed. When he stopped his visits one winter, we were saddened by his absence. We often wondered what happened to him. The story that resulted from our encounters with Old Veteran is purely fictional.

About the Author

I have been married for thirty-five years and rasied a family of two. I am a retired teacher and have written poetry since I was a young girl.

The Squirrel Family is my first book but I recently wrote a new story called The Witch's Cat. My dad enjoyed writing too, but never published any of his stories. Currently, I am editing his children's story called The Witchery of the Wicked Crow.
