About the Book About the Author

About the Book

From Lynette Swanson, a striking first collection of poetry that projects a deep sense of spirituality and a moving poise. This is a lively and approachable prologue into the authors mind as she writes what she feels and knows to be true.

Lynette Swanson writes intrepidly of physical and emotional sensations, which emerge from the heart with a robust sensuality and careful chaos. From poems that erupt from childhood to those that embody the transformative power of love and loss.

Lynette Swanson's ambitions as a writer are imperative and intense. Her work has a sense of struggle, with an inspiring clarity, revealing both anxiety of misfortune and the valour with which she confronts her demons.

About the Author

Lynette Swanson was born in 1979, in New South Wales, Australia and grew up in Queensland. At the age of twelve her father suddenly passed away and Lynette soon discovered the creative outlet of reading and writing poetry.

Her mother then relocated the family to Tasmania. For two years Lynette heavily immersed herself in painting and writing, educating herself at Brian Chandlers School of Art and Design and the Elizabeth College in Hobart. Then, at the age of fifteen, Lynette left home with her sister to move back to Queensland and attend university.

Incredibly, her work has mounted to over a thousand poems. Lynette has won various competitions and is published through the International Library of Poetry. She now lives in Melbourne, Australia.
