Young Kal visits his Grandparents, but they are missing. His search for them takes him on an amazing adventure throughout Trinidad. He encounters anacondas, killer bees, quicksand and more.

About the Book

Young Khalil goes to Trinidad to visit his Grandparents only to find that they have been kidnapped. With the aid of friends he goes in search of them and finds himself on an amazing adventure that traverses a large part of Trinidad.

The chase takes them into the Nariva Swamp - a wetland that has remained untouched in part - and a confrontation with a giant anaconda, which they almost lose. Having just succeeded in getting away they end up in a high-speed chase across Trinidad's east-west corridor. Here they are trapped in a limestone cave and left to die, only to be rescued at the last minute.

They resume their chase through the Trinidad Carnival - a street parade of brightly costumed bands- and rescue the old people. They learn the reason they were kidnapped - a treasure in old Spanish gold buried on their estate.

The crooks however are still on the loose and still want that treasure. Find out what happens as this trilling adventure comes to a close. Do they find the treasure? Is it all lost? What happens to the crooks? Read it all in The Golden Rhyme.
