About the Book About the Author Excerpts About the Book
This is the third and final volume of this series. The earlier volumes thoroughly cover the major and minor scales, as well as inttervals, triads, and seventh chords. If you already have a good knowledge of these elements, are able to read bass and treble clef at the keyboard, and are interested in learning how to combine these elements to create harmony and composition, then this book is for you.
This series is thorough in its presentation of music theory and harmony that is covered in many undergraduate theory courses and the high school AP exam. All elements are taught both on the page and the keyboard.
Features:
- Keyboard skills are integrated into every lesson, enabling you to hear, feel, and "see" the music as you learn.
- Frequent reviews provide ample opportunities to steadily strengthen your knowledge of every element.
- Numerous diagrams allow you to easily visualize each new concept, taking the mystery out of learning music theory!
- In the hands-on approach, you will have many changes to practice what you learn in each lesson as it is being taught with the drills and exercises that follow.
- Extra features include the medieval modes and introduction to jazz-pop.
Music Theory Step by Step: Level One and Music Theory Step by Step: Level Two are also available from Trafford Publishing.
