About the Book About the Author Excerpts Catalogue Information

About the Book

In this book, the author shares some of his deepest thoughts and feelings in the form of poetry. The book is a careful selection of poems written over a period of several decades. Drawing upon many of life's experiences, the poetry takes turns of the whimsical, romance, patriotism, spirituality, sorrow, and death. Originally intended as a gift for family and friends, the book is now offered to any who enjoy rhyming verse. The added touch of a CD of the author reading the poems gives a personal touch of feeling and emotion and also makes it ideal for the visually impaired.

About the Author

Lescott (pen name) grew up in rural Michigan, spent 20 years in the Navy, then worked at various jobs while furthering his education and providing for a family, and is now a college professor. He began writing poetry as a student at William and Mary College while still in the navy. It became a venue to record personal thoughts and feelings. Deeply religious and patriotic, he uses his hobby of writing to share some of his experiences and thoughts from the many years of 'life' with friends and family. Now, through the urging of many, he shares them as a published book.
