About the Book

After the 1942 Battle of El Alamein the German Afrika Korps retreated to the west. The vanguard was winged and recnnaissance planes ordered to observe and report to Berlin Vichy French resistance to the British-American joint invasion of North Africa. One of these planes was shot down and crashlanded on the surface of the Atlantic. The two surviving officers rowed in a rubber dinghy into the nearest coast of Jandia, Fuerteventura. For diamonds, the spoils of war, the German captain bought a fisherman's house in which to store further illegal aquisitions. The pilot, a Luftwaffe lieutenant, joined the German police after the war. His chief assignment: to hunt down the looters of war.
