Heating cost is increasing. What you pay for heat and taxes on your home, you could be retiring on in Cancun, Mexico. Learn how to retire in paradise.

About the Book

I visited Cancun numerous times over the years, but could never learn much about the city its self, only the tourist strip. Because I thought Cancun such a beautiful place, it occurred to me that I would want to retire there someday. Therefore I needed to know the real Cancun, where the workers in the resorts lived, what the city was like.

Most of all I wanted to be able to find my own way around in an affordable manner. Since I did not like being at the mercy of cab drivers that determine what fare they charge by the colour of my skin and my nationality, I wanted to know how to use the buses to explore the city. I am not alone; fellow travelers have related repeatedly this same frustration at being at the mercy of cab drivers in the city. Their reaction was always to take the first bus they could get out of Cancun. Now they can stay.

I have compiled this guide to help visitors affordably explore the city, and learn for themselves just what makes Cancun so special and such an ideal place in which to retire.

Today we are facing declining petroleum supplies resulting in higher prices for heating fuels and gasoline. As a result, many of us are facing choices that we had not planned for in our retirement years. Do I eat or heat? The answer is found in Cancun and surrounding area. You can eat and you don't have to heat. In fact, paradise in your golden years can be yours.

In this book I show you how to know the city, and where to go for the help you need to move here. I've answered the questions I had about Cancun when visiting and when moving here. If you are like most visitors to Cancun and ask yourself if you could live here year round, the answer is yes, and this books makes it easy to realize such a dream.

About the Author

Colleen Carroll is the mother of two; Berwyn and Trevor. With damaged lungs and in need of clean air, she first sought it in Cancun and was successful. When she moved there her sons were happy for her improved lungs, yet worried about their mother coping as she easily gets confused and lost. Little did they know that she coped very well, thank you, using her crutches, notebooks in detail on Cancun. Realizing that she needed a system to cope if she were to be able stay, she worked out a system where everything was documented as experienced. Placed in order so she could find her way about. Since she does not drive or walk well, Colleen bicycled everywhere. Before going out each day she made a map and notes along the way. It is these notes and maps that her friends and sons persuaded her to compile into this book. Each took a turn at editing and this book is the result.

She may have her disabilities, just the same one can still make lemonade out of lemons and be of some use. This is her guiding philosophy. Needing to try harder to cope has turned out to be beneficial, this guide helped her, now it can help you. Thanks to the help of family and friends.
