A brand new type of cookbook! If you're just leaving home, this book will start you off buying, preparing and cooking delicious, quick and simple food.

About the Book

Hungry & Skint is an exciting new cookbook for anyone leaving home and panicking at the thought of cooking their own food! This is not your normal cookbook full of lots of recipes with weird and intimidating lists of ingredients. No, this book gives ideas and guidelines on how to cook with flexible recipes which can be adapted to whatever you realistically have on hand. It has loads of suggestions for cheap, easy and tasty meals which can be on the table quicker than most takeaways or convenience foods. There are sections on the general principles of cooking; how to use kitchen equipment, different types of foods and how to cook them all presented in a simple, easy to understand format. This book is all you need to impress that certain someone or surprise friends and family and all without breaking the bank! NICE!

About the Author

Jane Garlick has been a keen cook for many years, bringing up her family to (hopefully) appreciate a wide variety of fresh, home cooked food. When her older daughter went off to university, she didn't want her to sink into a world of burgers and pot noodles so she wrote this book to persuade her (and lots of others) that cooking is not difficult and can in fact be quite fun, quick and much cheaper than buying ready-made food.
