About the Book

Where to start? First, let's take the fantastic fund raising chickens, all pushing nest boxes. Then, there's Morris the mole, quite a character! Imagine if you will, one hundred moles all with metal detectors ---- Oh dear! Oh my!

Dora Angora is the goat with the sequinned purse that's full of wild flower concoctions, she solves problems, you know, with the help of her travelling companion, Fern the pygmy goat. Oh, and we mustn't forget the Gwinley Haven Line Dancers, five really cool sheep, Ye ha! What a to-do!

By the way, my name is Great Aunt Jam Jar and together with Grandfather Rugan and the other villagers, we'd like to introduce you all to our world. Please enjoy this collection of tales from Gwinley Haven whether your five or ninety five, we know you will.

Just remember though, make your wish when you see the shooting star fish and remember that, when the moon is the shape of a custard cream, it may not be the end of your dreams! Maybe Percy the Pigeon Post Pigeon will have a special delivery for you!

But that's another story

Quotes:

Nesta, Betsy and Bertha sped away, hot on the heels of the spotted nest box. Straw was flying everywhere.

From "Nesta Gwinnychuck and The Case Of The Spotted Nest Box."

So off they all ran, four line-dancing sheep, still wearing their cowboy hats, Aunt Fran still clutching her knitting and Great Aunt Jam Jar bringing up the rear.

From "One Step Too Far For Lulu Ewe."

"Ok my moley mates, stand by the pigeon, muster the moles! Steady the metal detectors and fly the pigeon!" Morris was in full cry,

Then the voices of a hundred moles filled the air.

"GOLD," they cried, "We've found gold."

From "Percy The Pigeon Post Pigeon and The Lost Post."

About the Author

Vanessa was born and brought up in Gloucestershire where she was a chef at the family's Cotswold Inn.

Now, living in Cornwall, Vanessa is finally able to continue with her love of story writing.

She now lives, by the sea, with her husband and their three dogs. Walks along the cliffs allow time for her imagination to run riot as she drinks in the beautiful and magical Cornish scenery. In fact, Vanessa probably IS Great Aunt Jam Jar, if the truth were known.

But that's another story!
