Was born on 27th September 1942 in a small pit house in the mining village of Denaby Main near the city of Doncaster, England. In 1949 he moved to the city of Bradford where he met and married his wife Barbara. They celebrated their ruby wedding anniversary on the 12th of September 2004 and his 62nd birthday on the 27th of September.
Unfortunately Charles passed away on the 2nd of November 2004. He was a man who loved his family dearly and enjoyed peace, quiet and the world's beautiful nature.
He was recognised as a poet through the international library of poets through which he had poems published in Memories of the Millennium, Best poems and poets of 2001-2002 and Who's Who in Poetry. He received several awards and many outstanding reviews from fellow poets on internet poetry sites.
His work over 40 years has been collected and filed for publication by his youngest son Karl as a tribute to his memory and life long love of poetry. Together with the help of fellow poet Kenneth William Cowle of Soul Asylum Poetry, Canada has made this publication for all ages to enjoy.
