About the Author
Mount Holyoke College, BA American University School of Law, LLD, Foreign Service Institute, Taiwan, Dept of State. The author/translator spent 20 plus years in Asian countries mostly in Chinese speaking areas: Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing where she learned Mandarin Chinese. During the tour of Beijing, her husband was a FS Officer, two of their children attended a Chinese government run school that included a special section for diplomat's children. Because of this successful experience, the author/translation became convinced that at elementary school level, language training is an easy addition to the many skills a child is acquiring, hence this book and its unique format.
