Machanja Ligabo is a citizen of the Republic of Kenya. He was born on 5th June 1944 in Western Province of Kenya.
Machanja Ligabo is a lawyer who holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Law. He was a lecturer at the Cooperative College of Kenya and the University of Nairobi. For many years he headed the Legal Department in the Ministry of Cooperative Development in the Government of Kenya. He is the author of the "Model by-laws" of the main Cooperatives in Kenya.
Machanja Ligabo has actively participated in the second liberation of Kenya. He is a founder member and a former deputy National Organizing Secretary of Forum for Restoration of Democracy in Kenya (FORD).
In the resent struggle for the removal of corrupt Kenya African National Union (K.A.N.U) regime, Machanja again put up his head and joined hands with his colleagues in the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), lead by Raila Odinga. LDP joined forces with Kibaki*s Democratic Party (DP). Little did Machanja and his LDP colleagues know that leaders of DP were not for democracy and transparency rule at all.
He is actively involved in true democracy in Kenya. He is an anti-corruption and good governance crusader.
Machanja Ligabo is a widely traveled person. He has visited most parts of Kenya and the world. He has visited Russia, Germany, Australia, U.S.A, Great Britain, France, all the Scandinavian States, Israel, Egypt, Iran, Uganda, Zambia, Sudan and Tanzania.
Machanja Ligabo is married to Uside Machanja and has children. At the moment he lives in Australia.
