About the Book

This adventure story follows Bill, a modern day freethinker, on his quest for the answers to life's "Big" questions including:

  • Is there a God?
  • Is there life after death?
  • Why are people born with different abilities?
  • Why are some born into good circumstances and some into bad ones?
  • What is death and why do some young children die?
  • What is mental illness?

Bill looks for answers by travelling the world. He investigates ancient mysteries and visits exotic locations such as the Rosslyn Chapel looking for possible links between esoteric 'mystery schools'. Above all he learns from the fascinating, diverse and wonderful people he meets.

This book is not politically correct. Bill's story confronts religious fundamentalism on the one hand and atheism on the other. The story offers the 'thinking' majority of us who occupy the middle ground hope, if not faith, that there is indeed life after death. The story appeals to our powers of logic and reason to overcome the misguided cultural and religious beliefs we have learned from our parents, teachers and others in authority.

To me the mystery of life is like a huge jigsaw puzzle. You just need to find all the pieces, some of which are quite hidden from view, but can be found by the willing seeker. If you search all religions for 'truths' you will find some real truths in all of them and some nonsense. Admittedly some will contain more truth than others. Similarly if you search all sciences you will find both truth and misinformation. I have searched both sciences and religion and present to you here my findings. I urge you not to take anything at face value either in this book or elsewhere. Question it, test it and make up your own mind based on your experience and power of reason.
