About the Author
![]()
Fawn was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba but has lived all over Western Canada. She belongs to a large blended family, which is spread all over the continent. Fawn is "living well what's left" with her husband Ray and children Tasha and Ty; who are 18 years apart. Fawn enjoys the antics of her son and grandson Oaklen. The family is anxiously awaiting the arrival of Oaklen's brother. Life just keeps getting better!
The number one ingredient in this household is "kids". Volunteering for various organizations, fostering children, facilitating an emergency care home, running a daycare and hosting several international students has created an environment of noise and mayhem - exactly what Fawn needs to write.
Fawn is thrilled to honour her cousin Cindy in her first book. Cindy was her only "baby" cousin. Growing up just three blocks from each other was the starting of...a book!
Fawn's responses to some questions from Chapter 5
What do you do when you feel angry? Most of the time, I go for a speedy bike ride or a run. If I can't do something physical, I lock myself in the bathroom and scream into a towel, throw my arms around like a crazy person, pull my hair out, have an argument with the person in the mirror and mutter and curse until I cool off.
What memory makes you smile? My son and I were walking along our street after a rainfall. One of the puddles had some gasoline in it. He stopped, covered his mouth and said "Oh no mommy! Look! A rainbow fell in the puddle!"
What are some of your life wishes? To publish all the books I have written. To live large every day of my life. To run a full marathon. To look at my life at the end of it and say confidently "that's a wrap!"

Ginelle was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She loves her funny family and fantastic friends. Ginelle "lives large" with her awesome husband, Jack and her super son, William. Ginelle has been a student every year since she turned four. At the end of it she'll have an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts and a chance to master having time to spend on things other than assignments. She hopes this will include more sleep, daydreaming, plenty of play time, reading, traveling, drawing lots, visiting, going for walks, continued learning and many chances to laugh with her friends and family.
Ginelle's responses to some questions from Chapter 5
What second changed your life? My mom died from cancer when I was seventeen. It taught me how bad and how good things can be all at once. Nothing is black and white and learning that in such a big way has been an incredible life-changing experience.
Who do you talk to when you are overwhelmed with emotions? I talk to my husband Jack, as well as my family and friends. I am so lucky to have a great support network. I love that everyone has different perspectives and insights to offer.
What are some of your life wishes? To see my son become a fine man, to travel, to keep creating, to laugh a lot and to never lose my imagination.
