![]()
George Paxton has extensive experience in financial services - banking and life insurance/investments. His father, Denis, was Chairman of a major South African commercial bank. He has spent time trying to sell life insurance (unsuccessfully) and during that time was appalled by the ignorance supposedly sophisticated people had about investments and other investment products, and even more appalled by the ignorance of those who where meant to be structuring and managing such financial affairs he has learnt the principles of sound financial management, and presents these in readily understood terms.
Born in 1948, age 58, George was educated at St. John's, Johannesburg. He has a Masters Degree in Theology from the University of South Africa and is an Anglican (Episcopalian) priest. In the 1970s he worked as a photojournalist on 2 major South African newspapers. In most of the decade of the 1980s he worked in Information Technology, finally as an Information Architect, before moving into the ministry in the Anglican Church.
He lives in Johannesburg, South Africa with his wife Lynette.
