About the Book About the Author Excerpts Catalogue Information About the Book
The Death of a Tree is a fable, a myth that is timeless. It resonates with those of different ages and backgrounds who have been touched by love and loss. The story presents the circle of life, our stages of growth, and the milestones we shall all pass through. The message shared is what is truly most important to us all. The greatest most powerful and beautiful need we have is to be loved. The theme wishes us to connect with our mother earth and view nature as our true home. We must truly realize that the earth gives us life and we must protect her with deep respect and reverence. She is calling us to change our direction with the help of the realization that we are all part of the same web of life.
About the Author
Millicent has made her living as a fine art restorer. Over the years she has restored oil paintings dating from the 16th century to the present. Her clients included private collectors, art dealers, appraisers, corporations, and museums. Millicent has always been in awe of the hidden mysteries of nature, her majestic beauty, her silent generosity and her ever changing permanence. In telling this tale, she hopes to show how truly connected we are to nature if only we look deep enough. The circle of life is all the same for us and love is all that matters.
Excerpts
Deep in the forest cool, mossy and green
A gigantic Sequoia was growing unseen.
Centuries passed as she grew in grace
To take among trees her prominent place.
Till finally she reached the highest height known
To any tree that has ever grown.
Over three hundred feet in height
To view her was a wonderful sight.
She overlooked all of the forest wide
She knew all their secrets and kept them inside.
She was elegant, endearing with grace and charms
And gave shelter to all who flew to her arms.
