About the Book About the Author Excerpts

About the Book

The author has many years of experience counselling and facilitating workshops on the topic of stress. Ultimately stress is the by-product of our beliefs and daily choices of behaviour. The author offers a refreshing delightful view of addressing this topic. This book asks the reader to carefully examine how our beliefs are personally generated, as well as by our culture. When we clearly see what is happening we are open to do what ever is necessary to make changes.

We have lost sight of how the mind and body naturally function, and can only reduce stress when we return closer to our natural state. This book is about doing that. The author also offers the reader numerous specific suggestions to make changes in their life.

Excerpts

Introduction

The door to understanding this (thought or behaviour is conscious choice) is to see the facts or truth, otherwise we are simply left with beliefs. Confusion and stress continue until we understand that life doesn't conform to our ideas about it. We have the conscious choice to do whatever, and we are absolutely responsible for each choice and the lives we live....

Each of us has created a mental map of what life is, and what it should be....

The greater the distance between our mental map and reality, the greater our difficulty coping....

The most remarkable human beings accept what they cannot change and at the same time empower themselves with things they can change....

The question we are asking is, what behaviour is required to accomplish what goals in the real world....

Living with reality today does not negate the fact that we live from a deeper Inner Life that is the core of our existence or primary purpose....

Each of us might reflect on what self-images we are attempting to hold on to....

Learn to play, be an animal, you are one!
