St. Louis Native Releases Book of Poetry, New Eyes

Local St. Louis poet, Leah James, recognized by the National Library of Poetry for her poem Death Incarnate has written her first book of poetry titled New Eyes.

Now available for purchase online at www.trafford.com, those interested in purchasing the book from other retail locations and obtaining upcoming tour information may contact the author directly by email at orangeqwen99@yahoo.com.

New Eyes, is an eclectic collection of rhymes and short stories on topics including life, love, happiness and pain, and moving on. Readers will see glimpses of despair, read powerful messages of love and redemption, and relive whimsical childhood within its stanzas.

As the title suggests, readers are challenged to look at things differently, even in the poetry's delivery. For a twist, splashes of English are interwoven through Spanish poems Anónimo and El Bachatero; a musical poem metered to the rhythm of Bachata music.

The collection is as interesting as the talented 25-year-old author, who in addition to writing poetry, pens and sings songs with philosophical and spiritual themes.

"My goal is to use my talents in writing and language to entertain, soothe and uplift the soul in English, French and Spanish.

I want people to read the lines of my poetry and cry, laugh out loud and relive the very emotions that inspired it," said James.
