About the Book

The Vancouver Field Trip Guide: For Teachers Students and Parents is a unique and useful resource for educators and families in the greater Vancouver area. It is also an interesting and informative guide book for tourists in this area.

The first edition of this guide book was published in 1997 when the author was a teacher of adult ESL in Vancouver. She wrote the book from her experiences of taking international students on field trips around the Lower Mainland. The second edition of the book is an updated version with current information and many more field trips.

The new book lists eighty-two field trips with detailed information about each venue as well as a map, a photograph and a contact assignment. There is also an answer key and a list of web sites at the back of the book. All of these pages are photocopiable for the convenience of teachers and parents.

The contents page is divided into the four categories of general, cultural, historical and environmental field trips. These four categories are further sub-divided into the two areas of the Vancouver area and the surrounding areas. This is very helpful for parents and teachers when planning their field trips.
