About the Book

The modern Romeo and Juliet with modern twists.

The Next Obstacle is the story of two young lovers whose love was threatened by the clash of choice between career, and love. Five years apart, and she had tried her music career, joined, and left the convent, lost an aunt, and attempted suicide. He had been in and out of university, broken someone’s heart, detained for armed robbery, lost his memory and identity, and also attempted suicide. When fate brought them together again, the lovers resolved to get married, but surprisingly, there was someone who did not want the marriage to hold. This person had carefully plotted obstacles as the wedding date approached. Who is this person, and what is he or she up to? Nobody knows. What everybody knew was that there was going to be an obstacle to the marriage. Right up till the time the knot was being tied in the church, there was still a general expectation of an obstacle. But there was none, and only the culprit knew why.

About the Author

As a comedian and stage performer in his university days, Fred Brown developed an interest in making up love stories. After six and a half years study in which he bagged a B.Sc. honours and post graduate degrees in political science/administration and psychology, he did not derail from his hobby, rather he advanced, and began to create complicated and mysterious love stories.

Having seen one of his stories adapted into a play, he was motivated to tidy up his other works and send them out for publishing. The Next Obstacle is his first published work. Twisted Destiny will be the next to be published, and then, After the Xmas Party etc in that order.

Fred Brown is fluent in three international languages and many local languages, and his other hobbies include travelling, dancing, and keeping fit.
