God's Response to Man's Rebellion

by Jerry Waite

Can anyone tell the future? God's dealings with His people's rebellion in the past may hold the answer to the future.

About the Book

God's Response to Man's Rebellion begins with the identification to the God against whom man rebels.

Rebellion began when Eve listened as Satan cast doubt, denied God's word, and added desire. God's sentence for the disobedience of Adam and Eve was death, but in His mercy, God provided a covering for their rebellion by shedding the blood of an innocent animal. This kind of sacrifice was used until Christ came and made the ultimate sacrifice for man's rebellion.

When rebellion became universal in the descendents of Adam and Eve, God destroyed everything that breathed except Noah, his family, and a male and female of all other kinds of living creatures to replenish life after the flood. Rebellion continued in the descendents of Noah, but God did not destroy man. Instead, He called out Abraham to give birth to a nation that would show the rest of the world how to be accepted by God. That nation was Israel, and even though God revealed Himself in miracles and wonders, they still rebelled. God chastened them through their enemies, allowed them to be taken captive, and finally scattered among the nations.

Seeing God's response in the past, what can be expected from the increasing rebellion against God, and when will his judgment come?
