by Patricia Mason

267 pages; quality trade paperback (softcover); catalogue #06-1340; ISBN 1-4120-9585-9; US$20.00, C$23.00, EUR16.43, £11.50

Cassandra is a masterful blend of realism and imagination… a modern supernatural mystery story that links past and present to reveal astounding conclusions about Earth*s future…

About the Book

Is Earth facing a crisis of epic proportions, as many scientists are now predicting?

Is Earth in the final phase of an ancient astronomical cycle due to end on the Winter Solstice 2012?

Can clues from the past help us decipher the future?

Patricia Mason employs realism and imagination to reveal the fascinating connections between current Earth changes, ancient and modern predictions, and fascinating new discoveries about consciousness and the nature of the universe. This is a fact-based modern mystery story of loss, recovery and life-altering experiences during Earth's metamorphosis at the dawn of the New Millennium.

Several individuals become caught in a web of deceit and betrayal prompted by the discovery of two ancient artefacts. As they search for answers, they are drawn into a mystifying sequence of events that will have far reaching implications not only for themselves, but for the future of the planet. Can it just be a coincidence that one artefact bears a curious resemblance to the sun at a time when predictions about global warming and climate change have become increasingly urgent?

Cassandra is a book for our times — a fictional story with a resounding "ring of truth"!

For decades the chorus of predictions about global warming has been growing ominously louder yet world governments have chosen to either disbelieve or minimize the truth. In the Greek legend of Troy, the prophetess Cassandra's predictions about the dangerous consequences of accepting a wooden horse into the city were disbelieved and Troy was ultimately destroyed. Today the Cassandra Syndrome, a term applied to those whose warnings of doom are initially dismissed but later turn out to be correct, is nowhere more evident than in predictions about global warming and other examples of environmental breakdown.
