About the Book

Reconstructed from letters written home to family and friends during his thirty five months as a marine, Robert Lawson tells the story of World War II from a Marine's point of view, aa perspective often overlooked by historians writing about the great battles and commanders. In a personal and often philosophical manner, Lawson details his experiences from boot camp at Parris Island to combat in the Pacific,to his return home..About the Author... Robert Lawson, a New York native, settled in Westchester County after serving in the war. There he and his late wife Audreyraised two sons Steve and Jon. He worked as Art Director for the Shll oil Company after graduating ffrom Yale. Now retired and living on Cape Cod with his wife Helen he enjoys golf, choir singing and painting.



About the Author

Robert Lawson, a New York native, settled in Westchester County after serving in the war. There, he and his late wife Audrey raised two sons: Steve and Jon. He worked as an Art Director for the Shell Oil Company, as well as serving as administrator of his own commercial art business. Now retired and living on Cape Cod with his wife, Helen, he enjoys golf, signing in the church choir, painting, and volunteering at local galleries.
